Chiism reminds us that we must be patient when we are doing Chineke’s work…KEEP WORKING! Spiritual work is very hard! Sometimes it may seem like things are not moving as far or as fast as you would want and you get impatient and cynical. It may seem like everyone is passing you by and you may feel unappreciated…CHINEKE KNOWS YOUR HEART!

It is vital to know that Chineke never gives us what we want when and how we want it. We must do what we do not for the short term but for the long term benefits. In Igbo Nigerian language we say, “Ji akuru na ututu anaghi epu na anyasi”…yams planted in the morning do not grow in the evening. And so it is with our spiritual work…LOOK UP NOT DOWN!

You ought to trust that Chineke will sustain your efforts. Do what you do with the understanding that in the end, you can stand back and concede that you were influential for the new condition you have shaped…YOU ARE THE REASON FOR THE GOOD! Share yourself to the best of your ability. Waste no time looking for validation…it may never come. But suffice it to say that Chineke uses you in the open and rewards you in the back. No one needs to observe your triumph. No one needs to assert you are accomplished…PRAISE YOURSELF! You will know and understand you’re good as long as you stay focused. Don’t get turned around. Come to Chineke with no underhanded motives, with naught in hand.

Be a spiritual warrior. Keep in mind that your rewards will come when Chineke feels you are ready to receive. Until then…thank Chineke that you have the opportunity TO DO!

Otito Nile Diri Chineke!
